According GrahamFest owner and founder “Josiah” J.C. Weaver, “these youngsters are loaded with singing talent!  They simply sang their hearts out!  I cannot wait to have them on stage with me this Labor Day weekend!”

“The competition was tight”, according to GrahamFest Director Mary Lin Brewer.  “Little Derrick Davis sang and clogged to ‘May the Circle Be Unbroken’ and waved goodbye to the judges saying ‘keep practicing that singing, yah hear”.  Lindsey Nale fiddle player and singer for the Loose Strings Band from Galax stated that, “music is just plain fun to me; I love it! And it helps that my Mom is a music teacher!”  Emily Ryder from Pulaski sang “Daddy’s Hands” and also loves to play basketball, acting, and church activities.  Elizabeth Combs sang “Angels are Holding up the Ladder”
 a cappella, quite a feat!

Josiah’s GrahamFest is held every Labor Day weekend.  The dates this year are August 31st and September 1st.  Gates open at 2 and close at 10:30 p.m.  The festival offers 4 stages of live Bluegrass, Country, Rock and Roll, Celtic, Old-Time, Blues, and Folk music.  There is also a haunted Ghost Walk Tour of the Major Graham’s Mansion, a huge kids’ playground and stage, a beer and wine garden, vendors galore, and onsite camping.  Early bird single day tickets are $25 and two-day tickets are $40.  Ghost Walk Tour tickets are $10 with a festival ticket.  Local residents may receive free tickets by volunteering their time as Festival Help.  This application, tickets, and festival specifics may be found online at www.GrahamFestUSA.com.
